Hit the Kochs where it hurts..Stop Biofuel Subsidies!
Western 'Green' energy policies still supported by many 'watermelons' as well as big brand oil, are contributing to starvation and environmental desecration in the Third World while fat cat friends of politicians get rich.
And the Koch Brothers have bought into it.

Current Events: Irony of Reality
Isn't it juicy when irony hits home!
This is a pretty big deal but it was soft-peddled on the MSM. So Rupert's rag had to report on it. But then, who else* will?
It will be great to see the over/under on the editorial stance on US domestic energy. Lefties and climate research trough feeders still claim that either or both Big Oil Companies or the Koch Bros are funding climate skeptics though they have to make up shit (as in the AEI debacle) to do it. Amazingly they haven't found a tie between skeptics and Middle East oil.
Wonder why? snicker.
I'm thinking enviro's opposing US pipelines, oil sands and fracking now have a, sorry... ANOTHER.. domestic voice.. which everyone will continue to ignore.
Well, Guvner, .... and other staff about to be declared flotsam ... you wont be happy with that bye-bye check, if you even get one.
"I'm pettyfog and you have my word on it."
*Of course, the Business Media had to report on the sale, itself.. with similar chuckles:
Note: Since Gore dismissed Glenn Beck's bid with no serious consideration, it seems Carbon hypocrisy trumps Political hypocrisy. Obviously Beck would never have given him $500 M

Current situation: Staffers talk about first meeting with Al Jazeera
This is a pretty big deal but it was soft-peddled on the MSM. So Rupert's rag had to report on it. But then, who else* will?
Ominously missing was the creator of Current, the self proclaimed inventor of the Internet and savior of clean energy, Al Gore, although his partner, Joel Hyatt, stood proudly with the Al Jazeera honchos.I'm pretty sure that guy already knew that 'no credibility' part.
“Of course Al didn’t show up,” said one high placed Current staffer. “He has no credibility.
....
“He’s supposed to be the face of clean energy and just sold [the channel] to very big oil, the emir of Qatar! Current never even took big oil advertising—and Al Gore, that bulls***ter sells to the emir?”

One person at the meeting, who has already announced that she’s leaving, former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm, tried to ask about severance packages for those who wouldn’t be staying.“This isn’t the place to discuss this!” Hyatt barked at her.
“After that, everyone kept their questions pretty much to themselves,” according to the staff member.
Well, Guvner, .... and other staff about to be declared flotsam ... you wont be happy with that bye-bye check, if you even get one.

Going Gonzo over Guns
Hard to have Christian thoughts... when you read news items like this, like I found teased on yahoo
Trigger-happy Atlanta mom shoots intruder in the face 5 times
** Of course sanity prevailed but the original is cached and shows
exactly what scumsucking liberals think about gun rights, and self
protection.***
Trigger-happy Atlanta mom shoots intruder in the face 5 times
15 mins ago {when google cached from msnbc}
An Atlanta mom took matters into her own trigger-happy hands on Friday when confronting an intruder. The unidentified woman hid with her 9-year-old twins in a crawlspace as a man broke into her house and began rummaging through it. The alleged burglar, Paul Ali Slater, eventually found the family’s hiding space, but not before finding himself staring down the barrel of a .38 revolver. The woman fired six shots, five of which hit Slater in the face and neck, but he managed to flee after the family ran to a neighbor’s house. Slater is expected to survive. This story, shared thousands of times from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution website, has incited some pro-gun tweeps to voice their delight; @Jennecar writes of the story, “why we need guns in our homes!” And @kjclt1 writes, “bet this Atlanta area mother of 2 is glad she had her gun.”
Hard to believe any actual journalist could write that.. or that it could be published, even on the web
Viscerally, I could not help but want this idiot to encounter
exactly the same situation and die while on hold after dialing 911.
But that's not Christian.. just think it, then write it off as a human reaction and hope they just learn to think instead.
Thus I initially refer to the writer as a ***scumsucking liberal***. Another visceral reaction, but small potatoes to the option of wishing him or her to die. And obviously, not 'ALL' Liberals are 'Scumsuckers', just as there's a 'few Republicans who actually arent racist shills for the rich and privileged'.
When blood pressure returns to normal, I considered the article might actually have been written by a rogue journalist -- a closet 'Right Wing gun nut'-- to 'rile up the yokels'.
Which would have been just as bad. But hardly likely.. consider:
- the 'Trigger-happy' mom 'confronted' the burglar: 'woman hid with her 9-year-old twins in a crawlspace' ... burglar, Paul Ali Slater, eventually found the family’s hiding space, but not before finding himself staring down the barrel of a .38 revolver. The woman fired six shots, five of which hit Slater in the face and neck,
She must have leapt out of the hidey-hole Gun-a-Blazin'!!! ummm no. AFTER he found them, he found himself staring down the barrel of the gun.
- Why was he tracking the occupants of the house down? Sounds to me like he confronted the mom and kids. Could be he was just curious about the hole and what might be in it. Bad Idea if you're some place you shouldn't be.
- the presumably scared mom put five shots in his face. I'm not a shooter, but I've shot handguns. For a scared woman using a protection piece to hit the target five of six times tells me the guy was within six feet of her. Possibly she was just within the crawl space and he just looked into the opening when she fired.
But then... one of the 5 shots should have been fatal, or the guy is extremely lucky. It was a .38. I'm wondering what kind of powder loads were in the bullets. Guessing target rounds.
Whatever the case, the original wording of the article, as well as the reaction to it shows how divisive this issue is.
For me, not a gun owner, let alone a shooter.. it's an easy choice. The more the liberal media writes on curbing gun possession, the more I'm for legal gun possession. Not for me, necessarily; but for anyone responsible enough to go through the red tape bother for permits and training to use them.

About the "Bush started it' meme on Budget Deficits'
Saying the current debt and budget deficits were started by Bush is misleading at the least - and a gross lie at the worst case, which is the belief of most progressives.
Note the early Bush years were affected by the bursting of the Tech Bubble, losing a lot of revenue from capital gains, when investors wrote off losses. And shortly thereafter by 9/11 which punched the economy in the gut for well over one month and some sectors took years to recover.
via Instapundit
Read the whole post, it's important!
Yeah.. there's a problem. The financial collapse into recession isn't mentioned at all. And that was going to happen no matter who was in power.
The MAIN problem was TARP / Junk mortgage crash. Which is directly traceable to Clinton's CRA 99 and Barney Frank and Friends. And because many or most Republicans were complicit, you have to write off the initial crunch.
After TARP is when the party differentiation occurred, once we panicked and threw a bunch of money at it, then instead of fixing the obvious problem by letting banks and finance crash, just threw more money at them. And hired whoever got fired, or lost a sweet gig at a defunct bank, into guv'mint slots.
And look at the mortgage market today! Only difference is that it's harder than hell to get that essentially 'free of interest' loan.
But the MAIN fix up to 2007 was jobs.. go back and look at 2001-2010 Unemployment Rates and overlay those revenue figures, above. Until TARP wrecked everything we were doing pretty well at recovering from the tech bubble and 9/11 ..
The key to revenue is and always has been a healthy private sector economy leading to growth and prosperity.
We are nowhere near solving the problem by adding taxes back on.. but the real start would be for the private sector to just have a good idea what their tax liabilities WILL be in a few years.
That's not likely. And there's no indication, other than a few obligatory words, that the present administration cares about creating private sector jobs.

Tax Changes 'unexpectedly' hit home for Obama voter
via Instapundit..
From DemocraticUnderground:
Note: 'proportionally'.. so what! But in the end, it shows that the higher earners DO pay their share.
The more you fiddle with taxes, the richer someone gets. And that someone is usually
not the guy out there actually EARNING an income of $500,000.
From DemocraticUnderground:
What happened that my SS withholdings in my paycheck just went up.
My paycheck just went down by an amount that I don't feel comfortable with. I guarantee this decrease will hurt me more than the increase in income taxes will hurt those making over $400,000.
LOL!!!! DU stands for DUmbass?
Best Answer in the Comments: 'Should never have been done in 1st place.'
Yep, SUCKER! Keynes brings pains!
And of course the DU..$$ doesnt consider that a Small Business Owner may have to declare $450K but may have an actual living income the same as his.. because ..like, you know.. he actually still has to write checks to operate his business from that declared income.
Here's more on the pain with no gain:
Workers making $30,000 will take a bigger hit on their pay than those earning $500,000 under new fiscal deal
Note: 'proportionally'.. so what! But in the end, it shows that the higher earners DO pay their share.
Everyone
gets hit.
The more you fiddle with taxes, the richer someone gets. And that someone is usually
not the guy out there actually EARNING an income of $500,000.
However, the comments make me weep. Stupid people swallowing the class warfare narrative they desperately believe in.
As 'Shannon' replied on my FB page:

Bork's Law: Remembering a legal lightning rod
I don't remember Bork's hearings like I do those for Clarence Thomas, which turned out a travesty though Thomas did win the confirmation.
However I do remember the vile charges leveled against him on the Senate floor, especially those by the hypocritical sleazeball Ted Kennedy, who took what I thought were reasonable and conscientious doubts on Bork's positions and blew them into hyperbolic fear mongering. Setting a pattern that the Democratic party follows to this day and establishing the partisan poison we now see from both sides.
And now.. without Bork... we have police breaking down citizen's doors in the dead of night and proposed censure of ideas by which politicians?
So Kennedy was successful in keeping someone who should not have been on the Court from being confirmed. But I think, and many agree, we lost something in the process.
Note that Kaus above also blows up a hypocritical and hysterical damnation of Bork by another leftist.
Should he have been confirmed, no.. not because of those former views by themselves but that he was evidently pliant in applying them. We need to know who we are getting.
Note this tribute:
In there are exactly both sides of the story. Bork was able to chain constitutional precepts in creative ways. It's why he was viciously and unnecessarily made out to be the devil, and why he should not have been on the court.

OLSON: Remembering a great American
Judge Bork’s arguments as solicitor general before the Supreme Court were models of brilliant, erudite, persuasive advocacy. His judicial opinions were insightful and perceptive. His commentaries on culture, society and morals were provocative and learned. His writing was elegant and eloquent, witty and memorable.
Judge Bork was politically attacked not because his qualifications fell short but because his viewpoints and scholarship were abhorrent to the left and precisely because he was such a brilliant, persuasive and effective advocate and such a towering intellect. His enemies could not stand to see him on the Supreme Court.
In there are exactly both sides of the story. Bork was able to chain constitutional precepts in creative ways. It's why he was viciously and unnecessarily made out to be the devil, and why he should not have been on the court.

Alinsky's 5th
Educated to a higher form of stupid...
"In the wake of the election, I’ve heard five Obama supporters — all of whom also voted for all the California Democrats and for all the California taxes — complain that their taxes are going up next year. The cognitive dissonance is almost painful. All of them consistently embrace big spending — and, therefore Obama and his fellow Democrats — because they’ve been trained to believe that the spending on welfare, entitlements, and “select” businesses is a “good thing.”
Too much education makes people economically dumb

Now though I thought about it, and lord knows at my age it's in my own self interest, but I'm old, got digestive problems and who knows how much my blood pressure could take.

Go ahead.. you aren't all that far behind those who've been indoctrinated for years because you already know the Rethuglican weak points, so it's like a running start. After Tuesday's shocking and disappointing results, I decided I'd had enough. Enough of the crappy leadership, enough of the faux conservative, sub-optimal (heh) candidates, and above all, enough of the continual losing, where every defeat is costly and every victory inconsequential. Away with all that!
I now say, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. So I did. I'm now a out-and-proud (heh) member of the progressive left, and I fart in your general direction, you slack-jawed yokels.
So, what do I read now?......

Why I despise Lib Media... essay on NYT, Useful Idiots and Olympia Snowe
In homage to Maine Senator Olympia Snowe retiring, NYT comes out with one of the most biased anti-common sense overviews of political 'civility' they've attempted yet.
- The blatherings of Paul Krugman and Frank Rich, possibly excepted.
And yet, almost ALL the slander and name-calling around the Giffords shooting came from the left and the leftist press. Especially blaming Sarah Palin and the shadowy 'Tea Party'.
It turned out, of course, that the shooter had no political ties or agenda other than having formed a hatred of authority. He probably didn't even know anything about Palin or the Tea Party. In short, he was a nutjob.
Nor do they mention that the Tea Party wasn't even around back then, or that the new minority of old GOP hacks was far more tractable than before the Tea Party sent the message. Evidence? Try 'Gang of 14'; which included Snowe and Collins and esp McCain, Lindsay Graham.. and Mike Dewine. Without benefit of Tea Party scheming or anti-Dewine campaign, we Ohio Republicans not-voted Dewine out. Sherrod Brown is the result, my miscalculation.. but I wanted to send a little message. The Nuclear Option, when examined was an attempt to re-formulate a political principle on filibustered confirmation votes.. not bring the country down.
- If the idea sticks in your liberal craw, does the likelihood of GOP filibustering an Obama appointment bother you? What's the difference, other than who is in power?
Indeed you won't find ANY criticism of Harry Reid, who has made Obstruction an art form.
Speaking of Reid.. let's address the mention of Michell McConnell, above:
What does the writer call this?
Salt Lake City Tribune: Harry Reid says working with a President Romney is 'laughable'
Maybe the good lady Snowe should speak to him.
I didn't just start paying attention yesterday.. Maine has produced a remarkable Lady-Senator-Statesman but it certainly was not Olympia Snowe.
The result being what we see today... an agenda of authoritarian central planning and economic control concealed in the cloak of Progressivism and the Democratic Party.
Snowe's attempts at 'Civility' will be a one-way effort in outcome. 'Moderation' to Leftists means 'do it our way'.
Need proof? Their spoken views on Romney before he ran for president vs after he was endorsed by Tea Party.
In Summary:
The tone of political discourse today is not all that much different than it has been in the past. That doesn't mean we should put up with it. But on the other hand, don't throw stones or let others do it and applaud, while your own followers and propagandists commit worse.
- The blatherings of Paul Krugman and Frank Rich, possibly excepted.
Editorial
Desperate for Civility
You dont have to get past the very first of it to find fault:Senator Olympia Snowe, for one, is ending her 34 years on Capitol Hill by becoming a board member of the National Institute for Civil Discourse, a nonpartisan advocacy group founded after the Arizona shooting last year that killed six people and gravely wounded Representative Gabrielle Giffords. In case you don't already form an inference, the context of the entire article will be wrapped around the 'lack of cooperation' from Republicans and Conservatives.
Her {Snowe's} career goes back long before House Republicans disdained all attempts at bipartisanship as weakness, and before the Senate minority leader, Mitch McConnell, made the filibuster his cudgel and announced that his top priority was to make Barack Obama a one-term president. And of course it goes back before the Democrats took over Congress in 2006 and Pelosi bragged about 'hitting the ground running' yet did absolutely NOTHING in their first 120 days. To the NYT, that is not obstructionist, of course.
I didn't just start paying attention yesterday.. Maine has produced a remarkable Lady-Senator-Statesman but it certainly was not Olympia Snowe.
She {Margaret Chase Smith} said McCarthyism had "debased" the Senate to "the level of a forum of hate and character assassination."[3] She defended every American's "right to criticize...right to hold unpopular beliefs...right to protest; the right of independent thought."[21] While acknowledging her desire for Republicans' political success, she said, "I don't want to see the Republican Party ride to political victory on the four horseman of calumny -- fear, ignorance, bigotry, and smear."I agree one hundred percent with Sen Smith's statements. I reserve the right to voice my own beliefs. And I agree that the worst outcome of Senate hearings ever was the attempt to quiet and blacklist Communists in the US.
The result being what we see today... an agenda of authoritarian central planning and economic control concealed in the cloak of Progressivism and the Democratic Party.
Snowe's attempts at 'Civility' will be a one-way effort in outcome. 'Moderation' to Leftists means 'do it our way'.

Of course, it is.. or part of a Nefarious Right Wing Plan
Voting machines in Ohio, NC, Nev. switching Romney votes to votes for Obama
I suspect something MIGHT be fishy because last election cycle the lefties accused the GOP of rigging the machines. Unknown if the opposite happens, if it doesnt happen when Obama is touched... probably just dumb luck, right?Of course, it is.. or part of a Nefarious Right Wing Plan

FEMA has no water to give out. Or much else, either.
In contrast to its stated policy, FEMA failed to have any meaningful supplies of bottled water -- or any other supplies, for that matter -- stored in nearby facilities as it had proclaimed it would on its website. This was the case despite several days advance warning of the impending storm.Reorganized, since they failed so badly in Katrina, with a War Room and Quick Reaction Force.. they are doing all that's humanly possible, I'm sure.

America's Geriatric Work F(a)rce
"...of the 3.3 million jobs "created" (updated for October's data), a gasp-inducing 3.8 million has gone to workers aged 55 and over, or the one cohort that according to conventional wisdom is retiring, and actively leaving the workforce. How can America's elderly workers account for more than the total? Simple: workers in the young (16-19) and prime (25-54) cohorts have cumulatively lost a whopping 1.3 million, with just the 25-54 age group losing 842,000 jobs (don't believe us: spot check it right here courtesy of the Fed). Of course, lying to the American people to cover someone's ass is mostly pointless. That's why Nixon wasn't impeached or forced out over that 18 minutes of silence on the Oval Office tapes. Hmmm.. what was the body count from Watergate, again?"NEWS REPORTING about the Sept. 11 assault on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya, has moved from the political and mostly pointless issue of when the Obama administration had publicly acknowledged that a terrorist attack had taken place to more essential questions: "
Expectedly, the poor schmuck who made a video no one watched and didnt have a thing to do with Benghazi is still in jail.

And THEN he claims:
But this takes the Grand Prize Dunce Cap:
This is why I am so damned patronizing to idiots who fall all over themselves trumpeting doom and gloom.
The whole damned article is a lie.. doubtless unintentional, by an idiot who knows nothing but what he wants to believe.. but a lie, nonetheless.
And btw.. when he is shamed and humiliated into dumping this crap into the memory hole, there's gonna be a record of it lots of places including my PC.
Get this: Taking full advantage of Sandy, some guy with a Decimal Disorder, who has signed on to the Manmade global warming religion has laid out for you why we are all in deep danger:
How a Warm Earth fueled Hurricane Sandy
Well, since hurricanes start from ocean surface v atmosphere heat, that's about all the 'real facts' this guy has. Let's start here:
NO.. it does NOT! I wonder how he determines average reader age, but the point is that the Sea Surface Temperature is Point Five degrees C, that's 0.5, warmer. The Atlantic ocean is five degrees warmer than is was when most of you were born. Let that sink in for a minute. The entire Atlantic ocean averages five degrees warmer.
And THEN he claims:
The math behind climate change is simple. Roughly 1/4 of one percent of the atmosphere is composed of gases that trap energy from the sun. Carbon released for power and transport has altered that and we are now racing toward 1/2 of one percent doing the same job. The earth is warming.Which he handily illustrates by putting up a chart showing the atmosphere is 99.95 % NON-Greenhouse. I guess that excludes water vapor, which is far more effective as a 'heat trapper' than CO2 could ever be. Whatever. that looks to me like .05% might be greenhouse. One half of one percent would be .5% We learned that in grade school, right? Of course he missed that day but evidently got the 'Social Science'
But this takes the Grand Prize Dunce Cap:
This ever-so-slight thickening of the atmosphere alters the balance of energy absorbed and released by the planet. The process is analogous to the gears in a car. Rev your engine to 5000 RPM in "Park" and you'll run out of gas as quickly as someone racing around a track with their tachometer in the same spot. We haven't changed how much energy is being introduced to the system, we've changed how the system is dealing with that energy.Un-be-freakin-leivable! Thickening? Uses same amount of gas just revving as when it's doing work? ANY car guy or person who has studied high school physics knows better!

SillySeason: Hey Pols! You don't want to Stiff Hookers!
Especially Latin/ Hispanic ones. Ah.. finally something to grin about.
Drudge hinted and then other sites released a story on NJ Sen Menendez having contracted with a couple hookers in the Dominican Republic for their services at $500, then only paying them $100 each.
Daily Caller
This really makes no sense at any level. Let's assume it's true or parts of it are true; not a great stretch of credulity..
Campaign issue: This is New Jersey, we're talking about. Not Alabama Mississippi or Utah.
NJ voters are seasoned at hearing scandals of all sorts. No one in their right minds would expect this to make more than a one point difference in the voting.. at least not from the illicit sex angle. The only way that would happen would be for all the facts to come out and then, approach it from a wholly different paradigm.
So why bother?
And why, when all the surrounding facts suggest Menendez is accustomed to VIP treatment, did this come out in the first place?
- This is a posh resort. Who was it did the procuring and why did the hookers show up without defacto guarantees of payment? Are they street hookers, not from an agency or service normally ised to supply talent? If so, why?
- The hookers had the nerve to engage an attorney, but the attorney didn't deal with the first contact or resort people, first?
So why did these women come forward? I see no way they will be able to get the big payoff by going public. They are trying to maintain their anonymity, so that rules out big appearance money.
Their identities ARE going to come out. Which will result in their being blacklisted from any 'job assignments' requiring silence. Which I expect all of them will. No, professional aliases wont work.
In the final analysis this is just for satisfaction of grievance.
It points out Menendez is a cheap SOB. And doesnt mind cheating the 'little people' in small business. Not unexpected, given so many past cases of Dems stiffing campaign event caterers and venues.
It's too late for all that to come out.
Nope.. the real issue is that everything about it smacks of unprofessional attitude all around...
BUT
Why was all this facilitated by a DR resident and big Menendez Campaign contributor who has clinics / offices in Florida?
What's that guy getting from being a 'Friend of Jersey Bob'
There's the big stink coming.. if it comes.
The BIG ISSUE here is not hookers or a cheapskate politician, or this Senate Race. It's in the specific political connections that set it up.
Drudge hinted and then other sites released a story on NJ Sen Menendez having contracted with a couple hookers in the Dominican Republic for their services at $500, then only paying them $100 each.
Daily Caller
In interviews, the two women said they met Menendez around Easter at Casa de Campo, an expensive 7,000 acre resort in the Dominican Republic. They claimed Menendez agreed to pay them $500 for sex acts, but in the end they each received only $100.But in the Telegraph (UK), the writer thinks it's a cheesy and desperate political ploy.
The women spoke through a translator in the company of their attorney, Melanio Figueroa. Both asked that their identities remain obscured for fear of reprisals in the Dominican Republic.
When shown a photograph of Sen. Menendez, the women said they recognized him as the man with whom they’d had sexual relations at Casa de Campo this spring. Both said they were brought to the resort with the understanding they would be paid for sex.
Neither knew the identity of the man at the time. Both claimed to recognize him later as Sen. Menendez.
The timely release of this scandal has a whiff of desperation about it. Perhaps reconciling themselves to defeat by Obama, the conservative alternative press is seeking new targets in the Senate. The Daily Caller has dug up flight records that suggest Menendez did visit the Dominican Republic when the ladies say he did. It's a scoop, but no better that going through trash cans to find dirt on an unsuspecting d-list celebrity. Menendez is divorced, so there's no Peyton Place hypocrisy to expose here. Dare I say it, but if he's guilty then he's only hurt himself and the woman he allegedly underpaid.
This really makes no sense at any level. Let's assume it's true or parts of it are true; not a great stretch of credulity..

It's not you, it's your media at fault..
Back in the late sixties, when I first heard the now ubiquitous reason: "I want to make a difference!", for college journalism majors selecting that trade, I got a little chill.
Dont ask me how I knew what was coming, I just did. And now we are reaping the sour fruit of that.
There is issue after issue where the media's selection of favorite politics is either ignored or submerged. In order of importance at the moment:
Benghazi - Lie upon lie atop lack of protection by design. Coarseness and insensitivity piled atop the outrage just for seasoning.
Said to the father of a hero who defended the compound with no hope of survival"
- Our Secretary of State. Of course the video had absolutely nothing to do with the attack other than being a stated excuse. There wasn't even a demonstration.
So you just go ahead and pretend there is no proof your pet politicians are crooks and liars, then when the truth comes out.. you can say. "Well... I didnt know, no one told me." Well they DID try to tell you, you just refused to listen becuase it shook your world view that the Democratic party had reformed from the days of Tammany Hall, The Boston Machines and the Daley Regimes.
It's no secret the GOP establishment has had its share of these blind mice. But Watergate had NO body count.
Maybe you should pay attention to one of the reporters who exposed that Watergate Scandal anyway. Just look up Bob Woodward and see what he has written about what's going on.
Or read this by Pat Caddell.. former Democrat pollster:

"'Did your son always have balls the size of cue balls?'
- That was by none other than Joe Biden at the reception of one of the men killed at Benghazi. And you notice that will only be pointed out by foreign press and blogs here.
Add in the 'Fast and Furious' sting which was totally botched and continues to pile up a body count of over 300 Mexicans plus at least one border agent and which contiues to be lied about as a continuation of Bush Admin operation.. it wasn't, that was ended and this was totally freestanding.
None of you are interested in that because none of your favored news media is interested.. YET.
The desperate clingers to a political paradigm which breeds crony capitalism and the ensuing corruption proceeds apace.

- We cannot compare State Dinner expenses to Dubya's because he locked that information. And for a good reason.. so that efforts expended on one dignitary couldn't be compared to another. It's called smart diplomacy. But we know how much Obama spent on each.
- Also; Dubya didn't do that.. the Plebian! He went to Kennebunkport and Crawford or Camp David.
More, in depth:
Spending At State Dinners Soars Under Obama.

Short on Money? Just print some... Easy-Peasy!
This sums it all up in a nutshell.
OBAMA VOTERS, EXPLAINED: A postage stamp is sufficient to write what these people know about the economy.
For all you who think you can create jobs with a health care system, or easing interest rates, this is what's going on right now.. we are just printing the economy. No one's buying the bonds that back up that printed money, they're just sitting there at the Treasury. Who isn't even trying to sell them.
To follow up on the inevitable results, research 'Weimar Republic'. In case you dont get it, the value of the dollar is not based on the barrel of oil, it's the other way around. Just over ten years ago the floor price of oil was $20.. 5 years ago it was $40, now it's over $80.

George McGovern - tribute from a conservative
I was alive, thinking and aware during the Nixon era and I'm very much affected by the passing of one of the last true Liberal Democrats, especially those Tricky Dick campaigned against. There will be many eulogies made to Senator McGovern and much of what you read will be slanted toward freezing his political views in time. But unlike {apparently} Jimmy Carter, he did adapt them based on further information.
He said himself that he was an idealist with little stomach for implementing details. I don't think many would argue with that. Many of his ideas are ones that I can easily support, the most striking being that we should never have been in Viet Nam in the first place.
- We got snookered into it be our so-called 'Ally', the French, who in typical fashion made a mess of their former colony, withdrew and asked us to stanch the bleeding. Which LBJ did, with the aid of the execrable Robert McNamara, in a manner setting us up to win battles and lose the war.
It will be lost to the simple minded that he and Barry Goldwater were in partial agreement on that. If you are in a war go for the win, otherwise get the hell out. See Powell Doctrine.
At that time, Nixon was more akin to the Democrat grass roots of the day than he was. And it was critical that once in, we had to find a way to get out with some honor, the 'Progressive' thinkers {many of whom sympathized with the rioters at the 68 Dem convention} .. like Cronkite and Kerry to the contrary.
There's an old saying that people get the government they deserve, and in a lesser way the US gets the government it needs.
So we necessarily got a pushy, manipulative self-serving politician, Richard Nixon. Who reversed a course that would otherwise have led to disastrous confrontations with China. And who was instrumental in cementing the last of LBJ's Great -as in 'Great White Father'- Society into place. shh.. dont tell that to your 'liberal' friends. It's important that Nixon be identified only with the GOP so progressives dont have to strain their synopses.
Once those were accomplished, God.. or the fates, you decide.. discarded Nixon. Leaving Hubert Humphrey and McGovern untarnished and able to comment on our society without prejudice of having been in the decision loop.
Here's the article by a fellow conservative/libertarian that triggered my recollections:
http://reason.com/blog/2012/10/19/george-mcgovern-an-appreciation
Here's another -more 'dogma'- that also makes some good points:
http://bigstory.ap.org/article/mcgovern-unwavering-often-unrequited-liberal
So.. I'll take McGovern's compassion over our President's any day.

http://reason.com/blog/2012/10/19/george-mcgovern-an-appreciation
it's worth noting that later in life, after he acquired the leasehold on a Connecticut inn, McGovern came to understand the underside of the regulatory state. "In retrospect, I wish I had known more about the hazards and difficulties of such a business," he wrote in 1992. "I also wish that during the years I was in public office, I had had this firsthand experience about the difficulties business people face every day." In more recent years, citing the same experience, he campaigned against new labor regulations.
Here's another -more 'dogma'- that also makes some good points:
http://bigstory.ap.org/article/mcgovern-unwavering-often-unrequited-liberal
For a time, he also advocated a $1,000 tax grant to every American to replace complex welfare and income support programs, saying the needy could spend it and the wealthy would pay it back in taxes. It came with no numbers, no estimate of the cost, although McGovern claimed, against arithmetic and logic, that it would balance out at zero. He dropped that idea, but the Republicans never did.Of course! It assumes that everyone should have to think of their own welfare instead of having their support doled out -by government ribbon clerks- to them as if they were retarded children.
So.. I'll take McGovern's compassion over our President's any day.

Secrets from the South Side of Chicago
One of my favorite pol sites during 2008 was 'Hillbuzz.com'. I didnt always agree with the posts but it was pretty great to see how much I agree with a thirty some year old who is just about as different from me as you can get.
Which is to say.. Urban, Gay and black.
He'd been staunchly for Hillary as I recall but had no great love for the Democratic machine...
I have no idea how much of what I'm linking is true.. and how much is just scurrilous gossip. But I think you can get a feel for his veracity from the comments section. Not to mention the excellent prose in his posts.
I say again, some of the hearsay and observations he makes in the two posts I'm linking, Michael Savage might hesitate to offer. But that doesn't make them false, either.
There is REALLY SHOCKING CONTROVERSIAL STUFF in these and I'm not about to have it searchable to my site..
But they might explain a few puzzling things. You'll see why when you read them:
Which can no longer be dismissed as an 'outlier' point of view.

Prominent Members of Chicago Black Community Confirm: those closest to Obama know there is no second term coming
Once you finish that link, then go here, you aint read nothin' yet...
THINK SQUAD: Chicago blacks say Democrats are “clueless about how mad they’ve made black folk” in last year
Members of the black community who are disgusted by how the Democrat Party treats blacks like animals and uses them as weapons or political pawns have formed these informal “Think Squad” groups coast to coast, which are underground salons of free thought wherever black professionals get together to talk openly about the anger black people feel about Democrats today.
...
As breakfast was being cleared away and we were all getting ready to leave the conversation turned toward what black preachers have been saying on Sundays about the election. The Thinkers represented not just what’s going on here in Chicago, but what’s happening with their friends and relatives all across the country. ”One thing you need to always remember is that black people all know each other,” a Thinker reminded me, “we all talk and have family all over so there’s a grapevine and it’s buzzing right now”. It seems in all the states these Thinkers have friends or family black preachers really are — in subtle or obvious ways, depending on the congregation — telling the faithful that Democrats have turned against God and that the Democrat Convention in Charlotte, in particular, was an abomination. For the last few years a realization has been building amongst black people that Democrats push abortion as a means of black population control and the abortion advocates are now being seen as virulent racists since it’s mostly black babies that are killed in the womb.

Which can no longer be dismissed as an 'outlier' point of view.
So if you were thinking there's something just not quite right about those polls, or wonder why black Christians still put up with this.. there may be an answer coming up shortly.
Obama, Socialism, Romney and Bain - the basic truths
First lets get one thing straight, we may disagree strongly with his policies and programs but Barack Obama is not a closet 'commie' or a Marxist. All his speech and action, as well as his educational/formative years, point to his fitting the broad label of 'Social Democrat'. He is not about to start nationalizing anything, whether financial trading or goods and services.
We see clearly -if we actually bother looking- that his MO will be central control through mandate and regulation. See Obamacare.
I think a case COULD be made that it would be better for the country's economic health if he did nationalize all the country's raw resources.
Then those revenues could be used to fund his social programs. Seriously.. if I were him, that's what I would do. Of course once they saw the results, not only would the landholders be howling but environmentalists, as well. The US is freaking resource rich.. still! And the Europeans are looking on with envy as the US is starting to regain the mantle, Energy Capitol of the World.
- 'Peak Resource' alarmists are idiots, they NEVER consider technical solutions.. we are 'this close' to major breakthroughs in technologies that will not only reduce energy consumption per capita, but make it possible -for example- to convert coal into clean transport fuels.
- once the CO2 scam is fully exposed, that is.
I'm speaking in generalities, of course. The relative cost of heating or cooling your house isnt going to decrease, nationally. Nor is cost per mile of travel.
Current indications of the EPA strangling resource recovery are transient, we hope. It wouldnt be hard for a 'reform from within' to reverse that narrative if revenue, now going to private leaseholders, from all mines, wells, and pipelines went straight into the Treasury. See Alaska Oil.
- Note: Obama saying that national lands oil leases were pulled, because the holders were just sitting on them is basically correct. The question is if they are ever going to be re-sold.
Seriously, it would be easy to justify that 'Resource Grab' in the long run despite the near term upheavals. But it would take a 'centrist' doing it.. sort of like Nixon to China. We bitch and moan about China now but you can't dispute that the world was changed for the better by pulling China into the global market economy.
- The global political 'Sphere of Influence' is a different matter, but once again it will be true that you don't go to war with your trading partners. The only way of escalating to military conflict is if that trade is impeded or shut off. Like huge tariffs, for example.
Don't look now but that energy resource grabber COULD be Mitt Romney. Given promises made, and the difficulty in resolving our ballooned national debt, it's not unfeasible to assume the best of worse choices.
All that said.. let's address the Bain Capital bogeyman.
Charge: Bain snaps up perfectly good US companies, fires workers, cheats retirees on pension sucks out all the equity, and sends the work to China.
That's ridiculous and those making the charges know it if they even bother looking. Bain
Capital bought companies that were in deep trouble. There may be a few individual cases of Bain 'forcing the events' but, overall, Bain has saved and created many more jobs than if they -or any other capital equity group- hadn't intervened.
How do you find out.. and how do you know it's true?
Simple.. just look at Bain Capital's track record as if you were an investor. You want to look at their corporate buys and interventions, the profit from them and how successful were the transactions over time.
Forbes -The Truth About Bain: Inside The House That Mitt Built
And especially look at those brands/businesses since Romney's not in charge. The focus didn't change because he was no longer there. How many of those jobs could be shifted to China?
Damn few!
Added: In the interest of full disclosure, Bain owns Sensata corp in Illinois which is closing down plant and 179 jobs. which will be moved to China.
I researched the corporate tax rate in Illinois and found that there is no disclosure law in that state. There should be if state leaders are truly wishing to be transparent. Caterpillar and other large corporations have threatened to leave the state without some sort of relief. Which is a sticky wicket as IL wishes to bolster their revenue shortfalls with Corp taxes.

Point and Laugh: 'Binders Edition'
When you got nothing else.. you make up a 'scandal'. Doesn't matter how lame it is, the sheep will follow blindly.
Still bruised a little by derision toward an idiotic PAC cautioning women to 'vote their ladyparts', the Dems have seized on Romney's saying he had 'Binders full of women' to fill key jobs.
Naturally Democrats project their unsaid views on that..
Here's a collection of hypocrisy that in another time would have been on national news and front pages for days:
The left’s got a fee-vah and the only prescription is … something about Mitt Romney and binders
Well.. if that aint chuckleworthy enough.. we get a breathless breaking story about the women in those binders:
Many In Romney's "Binder Full Of Women" Were Campaign Donors
The former Massachusetts Governor touted hiring “binders full of women” for his cabinet, but many were donors to his gubernatorial campaign.
Mitt Romney answered a question at the presidential debate Tuesday on how he would close the gender pay gap by telling how he filled his cabinet with women appointees using "binders full of women" provided by women's groups. So let me get this straight.. the fact that those women he appointed gave him campaign contributions means they didn't come from the binders, but from the contributor list.. or what?
But a cross reference of Romney's very senior positions held by women, his senior staff and cabinet heads, show that 5 of 8 positions were filled by campaign donors, suggesting that Romney did indeed surround himself with female executives, but that the outside advice had a limited effect.
If I were hiring for a position that was largely a political one, I'd certainly look for someone I thought wouldn't be conflicted. And if they shared my views, it's reasonable to assume they might contribute to my campaign, right? OR is that just another misogynist republican point of view.
And let's take note that this guy said himself that Romney had women in EIGHT SENIOR POSITIONS
I know.. let's check out some Dem Governors' staffs and see how many women were high in rank and wonder later if they contributed to their current bosses..
Romney cabinet’s women representation better than today’s leading Democratic governors
Unlike the previous article, you will see ALL the pertinent data included. Along with source links. Not just that which makes the writer's weak propaganda point.

This is really on the edge of unbe-freakin'-lievable!!
Please read the whole thing...This guy was almost our President!
Gee, I'm not a Senator or even a politician.. hell, didnt even stay at a Holiday Inn Express.. but I DO have a brain.
The Benghazi attack WAS a 9/11 attack and it was against US Sovereign territory.. and it WAS a terrorist attack -Get the Irony there, in CONTEXT of a hateful video- but that's where the similarities end.
The attack was on a building on foreign soil and easily forseeable. In fact both the Libyan govt and previous events against that buildoing and other embassies pointed out.
- The Brits had already pulled out due to attacks on them.
The Ambassador and staff knew they were at risk, unlike those who worked in and around the WTC.
That's why they begged for additional security. Which security didnt even match that in safe European capitals. And was even less than the Twin towers had.
- The ONLY security pro who RIGHTLY considered the Towers at risk was the legendary Rick Lescorla
Kerry is blaming Republicans for the Benghazi issue because they notice it and point out the failures both intentional and accidental.
He didn't mention how unfortunate the 'It was the Video' coverup.. or have any criticism of the false narrative his kind put up and still are trying to sell their gullible base.
- He is totally rewriting recent history that we all saw in REAL TIME! The President covered up the failure by blaming a lousy video.. did NOT admit ANY fault until it was unavoidable.
Who is it doing the political spinning, you execrable lying Twit
