NYT on Yu-uu-uge GDP Growth: Always look for the dark gray lining...

In 1945 Judy Garland sang what would become almost an earworm for the next 15 or so years.

And yes, the same paper whose chief Sr Expert economist predicted a stock market crash on Trump's election  has more sobering take on the seemingly great news about a 4.2 raise in US GDP.

Unlike the trade effects, the lift from government spending won’t disappear overnight. Most economists expect the budget deal to keep adding to growth for the rest of the year and into 2019. After that, though, the effects will fade.

Ah well, I'm onna those 'fixed income' types and that news is slightly inflationary, as are a lot of other Trump trade positions but I think it's good for the country.  The NYT obviously doesn't agree that anything Trump does is good for the country.
